Est '76. A Lethbridge icon for over 30 years.

In 1976 when founder Dieter Gerngross opened his shop at the corner of 13th and 3rd in Lethbridge, his goal was simple; to bring in the best brands the worldwide markets had and offer them to the cycle and ski community of Southern Alberta.

Over the next 30 years a lot of things changed; the evolution of cycling into the multi faceted world it is today, the rise of snowboarding and shaped skis, and Alpenland’s move to a larger store, allowing more room for a greater selection of products and a full ski and bike service shop.

Then in 1996 Dieter sold Alpenland to long time employees Jim and Jerry who’ve continued the commitment to offering the ski and cycling community the best products and service possible.

We are Specialized!

When Specialized Canada was founded, Alpenland became the only Specialized dealer in Lethbridge because of our commitment to cycling and service.

We continued our partnership with Specialized over the next ten years while still offering other lines of bikes to our customers, but in recent years it has become increasingly apparent that Specialized's high level of quality and commitment to innovation could not be easily matched in the market. So in 2007 we said goodbye to all other lines and became an exclusive dealer of Specialized bikes.

Now we are excited to offer a greater selection of Specialized bikes than ever before. With over 200 models to choose from we’re confident that they can meet or exceed any cycling enthusiast needs.

Going to the next level!

Our passion has and will always be cycling, but when we saw that there was a lack of high quality watersports equipment available to customers we took a chance and opened up the market in Lethbridge. It paid off! For over ten years now, Alpenland has been a dealer for top of the line waterskis, wakeboards and towables from the best in the industry HO Sports, Hyperlite and Ronix. Just another way we’re doing our best to serve Southern Alberta.

 Where to from here?

We’ll continue to live by our tried and true motto of “knowledge, selection and service” and offer Lethbridge and Southern Alberta the same commitment to skiing and cycling we’ve become known for so our customers can be assured we’ll be around for another 30 years.
